About Me!

Hi, and welcome to Jane's Journeys!

My name is Jane Grimshaw, I'm from the UK, and I’ve been a freelance writer for a number of years now. I have many passions in life: animals, nature, walking, yoga, jewellery making, and the great outdoors - to name but a few. However, my biggest passion is travel and all that visiting places far and near has to offer the mind, body, and spirit. So, here I am! If lockdown had any positives, it was to get me started on this blog. It has been brilliant for me to be able to relive some of my most treasured travel experiences and share them with you.

I feel incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to travel, and over the years I have visited so many exciting places, including much of the UK, Europe, and many further afield destinations like Mexico, Florida, Thailand, Dubai, New York, and Australia (my all-time dream destination!).

It’s difficult to know how far back to go with my travel experiences, but I’m going to begin with December 2015 when I travelled to South Africa with my family, and we all spent Christmas and New Year there. It was just great to get away from crackers and turkey and find some fantastic weather and stunning scenery. We flew to Cape Town via Istanbul and then picked up a hire car at the airport and spend about three weeks travelling around the Western Cape.

So, if you like travelling alone, with friends, with a partner, or with your family and you want to know what all the best tourist attractions are in a place before you visit, then Jane's Journeys will help you with that by telling you about my experiences there and offering photos to go with it. I also try to offer a few tips about the places I visit and some background information so that you know the significance of the attractions.
